What is myLot, exactly?

myLot is an online community in which members from around the world create and participate in discussions on different topics. It's basically paid-to-write, in the sense that you earn from starting discussions and commenting on others' topics.

You can also learn from doing Offers, if you are eligible.

How much can you earn from myLot?

According to their FAQ, it depends on how interesting or valuable the myLot community finds it. The more comments and likes your post makes, the more money it will make.

How do you get paid?

You have to reach their minimum threshold of USD 5, payable to Paypal only. That's why it's important to be active on the site and to have a Paypal account (which you can configure later).

My myLot experience

I joined myLot around 2008 but wasn't really very active. That time, I was happy with the social activity of joining discussions and making my own posts. And then a year after that, they underwent new management and before I knew it, they stopped the earnings scheme.

Fast forward to the present, after backreading emails, I found myLot again and thought of checking it out. Last 2013, the site had another facelift and the earning scheme was back again, but only for discussions and offers. Way back, members were able to earn through referrals, but that's not possible now -- at least not yet, according to the FAQ. That's probably going to happen down the line.

Have I cashed out? Not yet. I was halfway through the cashout when they decided to stop payments way back. Now, I'm almost at the USD 2 mark, but that's because I'm not always there like the other users (because of my day job and mom duties). But there had been members that cashed out. One of them even said that myLot did not deduct anything when she cashed out, even at the minimum threshold. So that's one positive thing about the site.

I plan to continue using myLot because I find socializing there fun. The members are very nice to talk to and sometimes they are able to help you with things. Just keep everything clean and friendly, and you'll enjoy your time at myLot.

myLot is not a get-rich-quick program!

I believe there is no such thing as a get-rich-quick scheme. If a site offers that, it's probably a scam. At myLot, you have to participate and work a bit extra to earn online. But don't forget the fun, it's what will make you stay at myLot.

Yes, it's not the first time that I've tried earning online. I've done so in the past, sometime during my early years of blogging. But I didn't take it seriously... unfortunately for me.

I don't know why, I just lost my "mojo." I got a bit busy with work as well and lost more time blogging. Then I gave birth to my first daughter and got even busier.

Time. The lack of it. That was what happened.

I lost track of the opportunities I signed up for. I became less active until I completely had no time for them.

Looking back, maybe when I continued, I would have been more successful in earning online.

And today, I'm hoping it's not too late for me.

For now, it's back to zero. Or maybe one. I've started to do some things I've done in the past.

Hopefully, even if slowly, I can get on track to earning online again.

Hi there and welcome to my blog! As you can surmise by the title of my blog, this site will detail my experiences in finding opportunities to earn online.

But wait, before I go any further, let me introduce myself.

I'm Michelle, a 30-something Filipina; a wife and mom; and a full-time web content writer for a BPO industry catering to hotels and accommodations. I've been blogging since 2008, maintaining Hits and Mrs. on WordPress (free, by the way).

So why did I come up with this blog?

Simple: I wanted to find a way to gain additional income. I have two little kids and big bills to pay. Well, my husband shares in that, but with our line of work and the growing needs at home, the combined income we get from our day jobs is just enough -- sometimes barely -- to pay for everything.

I've always been on the lookout for additional income streams. So far, what I have done is invest in insurance (for future use) and do other writing on the side.  My sideline is from referrals from friends and former co-workers.

But you know what, I found that there's a wealth of opportunities online. This I discovered while looking for other work to do to add to the money in the bank. And, to be honest, there were times that I have tried joining or was close enough to joining these opportunities. I got inspired by people who found success in making money online.

It will take hard work, though. Earning online is not a walk in the park nor a get-rich-quick thing. From what I've read, it takes time and dedication to be able to make money online.

And that's what I plan to do.

And that's what I want to share to you, too.

Because I know I'm not the only one who's looking for online earning opportunities. I know that you want to earn money, too, and turn to the internet as your source of income, whether main or just additional. And I know that you want guidance and enlightenment when searching for online income opportunities.
